I am a writer, editor and former volunteer with Ve’ahavta (my family went to Guyana with the organization several years ago). I am very interested in volunteering with the Creative Writing Contest for 2012. I love working with young people, have teaching skills and am an experienced writer and tutor. My daughter was an intern at Ve’ahavta several years ago and worked on the project, so I am familiar with the work you do.

On a day to day basis we hear about homeless people and we make our perception. When we hear something like this it makes think even more about the living condition and their daily stragle just to “survive for the day” Thank you Lauren, we need more outreach workers like you.
