Help Feed the Souls of the Homeless
The Mobile Jewish Response to the Homeless (MJRH) provides our homeless clients with needed food, clothing, respect and conversation. Sadly, when the van departs, these people lack the means to provide for themselves the items that help everybody else feel good throughout the day. This provides a selection of specific donation requests that specific clients have asked for, that would assist them to lead better lives.
- A marginally housed woman is seeking $250 for vet bills. Her dog was diagnosed with a tumour and she can not afford either the surgery or pain pills for her companion. *UPDATE: a generous donor donated the $250, the dog received treatment and is now tumor free!
- A former accountant would like a second hand computer. *UPDATE: a generous donor donated a laptop. Now this former accountant is now providing tax services free of charge for marginalized and homeless people, with special precedence for men estranged from their families so that their children can benefit from the tax return.
- A man would appreciate a working bicycle lock.
- A man living on the street near University and Richmond would like DVD player to lift his spirits. He is a fan movie soundtracks, especially from the 80s.
If you would like to fulfill one of the specific requests listed above, please contact Perry Howell, Outreach Worker, at perry.howell@veahavta.org or 416-964-7698.
