Volunteers Needed: Tutors for After-School Programs in Toronto
Are you interested in tutoring under-privileged children in a free after-school program?
Our Program:
- The program provides innovative one-on-one FREE tutoring for under-privileged grade 1-8 students who are experiencing difficulty in any subject.
- Children are matched with a tutor who suits their learning style.
- Supervision and school supplies will be provided on site.
- Training is provided.
Who We Need:
- Dedicated and professional volunteers who have a real interest in education, and are committed to having a positive impact on a child’s life.
Locations and Partner Organizations:
- Ledbury Park Elementary and Middle School (Bathurst/Lawrence) -Ve’ahavta
- Regent Park/Duke of York Junior Public School (Shuter/Parliament) – Ve’ahavta, Frontier College, Regent Park Community Health Centre
Your Commitment:
- Both programs will run from October 2009 – June 2010
- Tutoring will take place between 6:00pm-7:30pm
- The Ledbury Park program – every Wednesday night
- The Regent Park/Duke of York program – every Monday night
- Tutors must commit to attending at least every second week.
