Creative Writing Contest

The Ve’ahavta Creative Writing Contest (CWC) has inspired street-involved adults and youth for over a decade.  Contestants have the opportunity to win cash and other prizes, link with mentors, publish their work online and in a ‘zine’, and participate in a spoken word event.  The submission deadline for contest participants is May 30, 2014 and the winners will be determined in August, 2014.  A spoken word event will take place in mid-September, 2014.  This is a powerful program which has had a transformative effect on past participants.

Submissions can be mailed, faxed, or e-mailed to Ve’ahavta or dropped off in a submission box at the shelter/drop-in where a workshop was held. For more information please contact leah.silverman@veahavta.org or 416-964-7698 x 225.
